Our protocol will outline the methodology for measuring the carbon offsets generated from a regenerative grazing project. It will be usable by farmers who wish to begin implementing regenerative grazing practices, such as strip and rotational grazing, on land in the Southeast U.S. We worked with the Duke Carbon Offsets Initiative (DCOI) to increase the validity and usability of our protocol. DCOI works to expand offset opportunities within higher education by fostering collaborative project ideas and bolster educational missions by easing offset project implementation. DCOI may decide to adopt our protocol as an approved carbon offset project, and would then work with farmers in the area to purchase offsets from them.
